Nailed 4% and 4.6% on my NDX and RUT positions, plus an additional 3.4%ish from the morning trade window over at Rydex – A very nice trade today. I also managed to buy TWM and QID this morning and took my gains in those ETF’s this afternoon a little early. Both TWM and QID did not match the index performance today. Sometimes you can get carry over the next day where these ETF’s catch up in performance the following trading day regardless of index performance. With MER afterhours news about raising more capital I think tomorrow just got the excuse it was looking for a continuation of the down move.

I saw some serious technical breaks today over 21d ema’s to the downside, while inverse funds like QID found support and rose off its 21d ema. I stayed 100% short with the inverse mutual funds, but have no inverse ETF’s on the table. I will rebuy those ETFs tomorrow though at almost any price as I believe tomorrow we will close lower eod. If we gap up I’m shorting it.

AMGN is up again afterhours providing only one safe haven right now which is Biotech.

Sold the GG stock today for about 1.8% gain, GG calls for 16% gain, and inverse ETFs for around a 3.8% gain (I bought them while the NDX was up).

I also bought RTK near the end of the day. I’m taking another shot here. We may be seeing bounces in oil, coal, and steel stocks. This will bode well for RTK as its an alternative energy company that turns the byproducts of things like coal, natural gas, and petroleum coke into clean fuels.
