About
I started out trading stocks about 5 years ago when I fell into a sum of money. Unfortunately, I turned over this sum of cash to financial managers at the wrong time (Aug 2000). They proceeded to lose alot of this money and still gladly take their 1% commission without even an apology or an explanation of what went wrong. Nothing.
I am often underwhelmed by financial managers and I’ve learned alot through my different interviews with them. I will say this, Merril Lynch almost won my business once. While my displeasure grew over my wealth managers. I was testing my own hand at trading stocks/investing for myself in a seperate accounts online. I proceeded to lose more money as I really didn’t have an understanding of the markets and trading in general. The price of knowledge was HIGH. I know many people go through this.
I’ve spent the last 5 years honing my trading skills and building and testing many trading systems. I’ve spent countless hours reading charts and backtesting and watching the market on a daily basis.
It has taken me these 5 years to understand the markets and the way they trade. I will never ever be hit with another 2000 stock market decline again.
Since Dec 2004 my mutual fund trading is averaging 32% and individual trading account is up considerably. My gains are consistent. Look through my old posts.
What I look for
I scan for technical patterns and often match those stocks to good fundamental value screens. All my trades are not good values, sometimes they are purely technical.
What I won’t do at StockRake.com
If you expect to see regurgitated press releases from stocks, or a get a run down of the days events in the markets, look elsewhere. I won’t be providing that kind of information. I’m strictly talking about stock setups and making money in the market via options, mutual funds, stocks, etfs, dividends, and that sort of thing. This is about timing stocks, timing the market, and finding long term trends. I do speculate ALOT. You will see me speculating in under $10 stocks quite often. Rarely do I shoot at the pennies though.
Lets make money together.
