Ameritrade merges with TD Waterhouse

Ameritrade has officially gone on a sell signal with my system, but I am ignoring this signal. Why? The dividend payout of 6 bucks has not the stock price down 30%, however the valuation is very good and at this price its better.

Ameritrade has a long trend in front of it with Baby Boomers retiring or trying to retire, younger investors playing the game, and the focus from social security moving to individual retirement planning should be good for all brokers, especially the retail end. This is why Etrade and Ameritrade have such good earnings and why their stock charts reflect this trend.

Ameritrade has merged with TD Waterhouse adding more investors to their client base. We are probably going to see more M&A activity this year than most. Anyway you slice it this sector is bullish.

disclosure: I own AMTD and am buying more
