I Bought RUT Calls Back

July 25, 2007

I bought the August 810 calls back after getting my ass kicked all day in them. I got in for 19.10. Finally the R2K is positive on the day and I was hesitant to post the rebuy in fear(superstitious) that it would hurt my buy :D .

I’ll post a chart of the pattern I was waiting on to happen. I saw it occur after I cashed out and knew I had to get back in or miss a run. R2K as I type is 4 pts higher than 810 and so far up 14%. 815 should hit or higher.

It depends on different factors that can make options move.

    1. Price action of underlying instrument, in this case the RUT
    2. Volatility Index
    3. What people are paying for them right now.

-options can vary in price depending on what the price is. Also note each contract controls 100 shares. So if you buy 5 option contracts you are controlling 500 shares. So do 500 x the option price, and thats your cost.

Then say your option contract goes up $1 you would make a $500 profit.

I don’t know what RMN is.

Try optionsxpress.com . They have a demo account there that you can open and try everything out. Some of their stuff will be really complicated for a newbie, but keep it up and come back here if you have more questions. I make alot of option trades, but not everyday.
