When I posted on 9-9-07 I mentioned some unknown fertilizer stocks – AVD, TRA, and CF.

They have all done very well since then.

CF – CF Industries Holdings, Inc – is up 16% since.

TRA – Terra Industries Inc. – is up 25% since.

AVD – American Vanguard Corp. – is up 15% since.

Can we be in the midst of another big swing up in the fertilizer stocks? Well as long as corn, wheat, soybeans, and other food commodities remain high priced, fertilizer stocks should continue to do well.

1. Global demand for food is driving the price for the commodities mentioned above.
2. The farmers want to grow those crops so they can sell em and reap big profits.
3. The farmers require fertilizer.
4. The sub-theme in all of this is the healthier organic trends which includes more natural foods such soybeans and other food crops instead of processed foods.
