Essentially this is how the Super Bowl Indicator works.

If the winner of the Super Bowl is from the original NFL, what is known today as the NFC, then there should be bull market. If the winner is from the AFC, or old AFL, says that there should be a down market.

Well the Pittsburgh Steelers won tonight and they are currently in the AFC, but are an original NFL/NFC team. So the Super Bowl indicator would be for a bull market. We are likely in a secular bull market anyways with a downtrend/pullback in front of us.

So if you are a believer in the Super Bowl Indicator, then this should be an up year.
