Indexes rallied today giving me 2.6% in the RUT and 1.5% in the NDX. That was nice, but we really haven’t made much progress to the upside yet. I say yet, because its possible that is coming in the next few weeks. Or I’m incorrect and I’ll eat my words.
During these past two weeks of [...]

No. I’ll see what happens this week, react, and make money. I added to my long position today. I didn’t post yesterday due to the happenings of Tropical Dud, Fay. I sold MATK yesterday with a loss of a few %. I did this as shot to buy a firework related play and its a [...]

The market was all over the friggin place. Who is ready to give up and go home? Thats a good sign if you are. Up and down all day with a big rally that happened at 3:25 then a big sell off at about 3:45. When the VIX gets up to these levels the moves [...]

In staying with my plan I bought some morning weakness by using the free cash from yesterday and bought the SPX. An up close today will likely see me cashing in and taking profits. I expect volatility the rest of the week and then finally want to be long right before the Fed meeting.

I cashed my index longs good for about 1.5% this morning. NDX up .95%x2 = 1.9%, RUT up .45%x2 = .9%
QTM and KTOS doing well today. GBT giving a little back after its 30%+ jump yesterday.

I cashed out those index longs I said I wasn’t going to do unless I got a “gangbusters” move. Who uses that word anyways?
Bottomline is that NDX is up over 2% and the RUT is giving out 1.2% as of this posting (now market making new highs). I decided that it was good enough for [...]

I didn’t mention it, but I cashed my SPX long from yesterday at this mornings pricing. Its looking like it was a good move right now as the SPX is 2 pts lower than the 10:45 open that Rydex uses to calculate its morning price. The Dow on the other hand is dropping like a [...]

Doing my morning short flip. Today I flipped from being majority long the SP500 with split NDX and RUT minor positions to majority short NDX and some RUT. I picked the worst of the best though as the NDX was only up .37% x2 thats less than 1%. The RUT did .66% x2 was 1.32%. [...]

I flipped my index shorts back over to the long side and covered up my QID midday. Hopefully I didn’t just get whipsawed.
Alcoa seemed to have good earnings while announcing a monster sized buyback. Should be good for the large cap indexes tomorrow morning. Good thing thats what I went into. Long S&P 2x funds.
I’ll [...]

Happy Monday. Being short worked again today. I held my Friday shorts and they were working out nicely until the big rally that happened around 2pm screwed it up. Thankfully the market then fell after filling its morning gap on every major index.
NDX 2x inverse funds lost very fractionally while the Russell 2000 2x inverse [...]

Being short. Cleared more than 4% on the index funds and TWM positions today. A very nice day indeed. I held onto shorts expecting more downside in the near term. The following charts demonstrate why I think so.
I don’t think many people see the falling wedge pattern developing yet. The wedge intersects somewhere late November, [...]
Per plan, I loaded up the shorts at the close today. I expected an up finish today and we got it, however it was a very shaky close. I’m anticipating a pretty nice down move tomorrow, but it wouldn’t be the first time being wrong if I am.
Aside from loading up my index shorts I [...]

I went short heavy on Friday at the close. I expected a down morning, we didn’t get it. I saw the FED injected 3.5billion this morning and decided not to fight it. I covered a large portion of my index shorts, but still hold a small amount. I’ll wait for the bounce to subside before [...]

Being short. Today was another good move - better than yesterday. 3.4% in NDX inverse funds and more than 4% in the RUT inverse funds. We did see exact low closes today across most indexes. I’m looking for new lows tomorrow but a higher close off those lows. If we get a down morning I’ll [...]
