The market popped huge and the whole move was done by 10am. Then the selling began. Like a fool or at least I feel that way right now, I thought it was the breakout I was waiting for. In fact, it turned into yet another head fake. However, this round the picture changed on a [...]

Well on the week to week basis we got the rebound I was expecting.
On a week over week basis, the RUT gained 19 points, and the SPX gained 21 points. However, things like the UYG did 14.6%. So certain items this week exploded while others were just good.
I flipped to a small index SHORT position [...]

Vivendi is buying Activision. Well they are creating a new joint company and merging their gaming division with Activision, but will be wholly owned by Vivendi called Activision Blizzard. In case you are not familiar with Blizzard, they created World of Warcraft which is the biggest online PC game in the world.
Anyways, I bought the [...]
Selling in the morning. Dropping my index longs this morning was the right call because I would have lost close to 3% and 1.5% if I hadn’t. I’m happy about that. I was ” ” this close to actually going short, but didn’t have the strength to do it. Getting a little bit of profit [...]

Looks like my SNDK purchase yesterday might pop today.
Citi Investment Research reiterated “Buy” ratings on industry leader Intel Corp., Germany’s Infineon Technologies AG, communications chip maker Broadcom Corp. and flash memory maker SanDisk Corp., among others.

I’m going to need more than the 1.73% pre-market bounce though.
AMTD is popping 5.6% pre-market and the ask is at [...]

Nothing worked today other than keeping a positive clear head and figuring out what my next trade is going to be. That is up. I’m playing the bounce and I think its going to be a big one.
I bought some AMTD calls today because I saw the E-Trade chart and know that SIC hedge funds [...]
Being long. I cashed out my index long today with a big loss for the week. Its in the neighborhood of +10%. I’m still up in the neighborhood of 20% for the year in my index trading accounts. Drawdowns suck no matter what, but when I take a look at where the major indexes are [...]

Happy November!
Being long sucked. The market was relentless. The RUT was down 3.93% double it and its close to 8% loss for the 2x funds. Nasdaq held up relatively well in comparison to every other index. SPX nosedived as well as the Dow. I have a feeling todays action is the real move, but just [...]
Nothing has changed yet. I’m not trying to rationalize my position, but go ahead and short if you want.
On the 20th anniversary of the 1987 crash “the market” tanks 2.6% The RUT was the worst with 3.18%. In 1987 they dropped 25%. Today is nothing. Don’t get excited thinking that the we are in [...]
This is a change for me since I’ve been long the indexes. I made the flip earlier today to the short side. Shorting NDX and RUT for a day trade.

Being long. Not listening to noise. I went on a little tirade yesterday about noise and how it affects trading. From alot of what I was reading, people were expecting fire and brimstone today and for the market to drop, not breakout to new highs. I was very confident this wasn’t the case. If they [...]

NDAQ and SVA.
NDAQ is getting the OMX Swedish exchange in a swap deal that gives Dubai exchange a 20% stake in Nasdaq and 28% share in London Stock Exchange. NDAQ is up 6% on the news and for me 11%+ gain since I bought it.
SVA is ripping as well. Up 7.14% and 18%+ since my [...]

Have investors gone mad? Is there anything to justify a 1700-point rise in the Dow Jones industrial average in just seven weeks? Has the economy improved that dramatically? No, it hasn’t.The real story is that, all along, the economy was a lot stronger than the pundits were telling investors. Reports of the collapse of corporate [...]
