Be careful today if you are short. Obviously you have to be more careful when eating todays loss if you’re long, however, I’m short. The key is where the indexes will carve out a bottom today.

The market is down and thats good for me. I went short Friday with everything I had. Q puts are up 21% at the lows of the day, QID is up 1% at the lows, and the Rydex trade will yield 1% if we close down here too.

I went rather heavy on the short today near the close. Bought QID, Q puts, and short in the 2x beta funds. I’m looking for a weak Mon-Tues period. Then I’ll reevaluate the trade from there.

With todays down move my Rydex Longs are feeling it, but my portfolio shorts are rocking profitably. Hopefully that continues.
ROSE still leads all my shorts with a  7%+ gain.

The beta portfolio is now positive after starting off weak. The NDX relieved some pressure today, but we are still in very oversold territory. There are some who are ready to jump out of longs and that makes me feel good about long in funds and short in stocks.

The way the system works is I get a weekly buy and sell signal. Last Friday I got the signal and the technique is to short those stocks at the next open (which is almost always Monday unless the market is closed).
