Being Short!
The 2x index funds produced an 8% return. I managed to snag 57% on my put options from yesterday. I can’t complain about 57%, even though I left another 75% on the table. The indexes got slaughtered today and all the little momo stocks got absolutely crushed. 10-15% down all over my watchlists.

Excellent gain of 57% overnight in the Q puts. Will look to possibly buy back on an intraday basis only. No overnight hold if I do buy more puts or short with QID.

The puts were very profitable for a 1 day hold. What was really nice was the timing of my sell. Around 1:30ish, my post time was 1:59, but I think the clock on my server is fast + time to post.
I bought the puts back at a 13% discount to where I sold them.

Bought the same March Q 46 puts back at a 12% discount to where I sold them this afternoon. Stayed short in index funds too.

My "target" was reached for the day. Essentially 2% in the QID was my mental target stop today, so I sold the QID and the Q puts for nice gains. We could go down lower and if we do I’m still short in my 2x beta funds.

Wednesday is a big day. Tomorrow, Tuesday, is a big one too. WMT and HD earnings. That should set the stage for Tuesday. A strong day, imo, will cause continuation breakouts on the Russell 2000, INDU, SPX, and probably fill a gap on the NDX. Wednesday will be the day that could give it all [...]

If profit taking takes place today there is a chance that Friday is an up day. It just depends how low we go today. If NDX gets to 1560 it might be a 1 day buying opportunity.

I’m still long in Rydex waiting to see what happens Monday. Good day today 4% in NDX and R2K. NDX closed above the critical 1500 level at the close. I’m looking for continuation at least in the morning session on Monday.

The beta portfolio is now positive after starting off weak. The NDX relieved some pressure today, but we are still in very oversold territory. There are some who are ready to jump out of longs and that makes me feel good about long in funds and short in stocks.
