I’ve been an owner of TIVO and a seller. I personally own 3 Tivos and watch alot of TV. That said, Wall Street has been banking on other companies coming in and stealing market share from TiVO for years and it hasn’t happened. Wall Street also expected brand dilution, but their brand has only seen strength.
Well I TiVo came across my screens today and I have been noticing AMZN as well. However, I have always ignored AMZN whenever it appeared on my screens because its not a stock I’ve trusted to trade except for short side.

Today I came across this thread while searching the TiVo message boards at Yahoo Finance. Then I over at AlphaTrends that he profiled AMZN in one of his videos. Ah ha! See the connection between TiVo and AMZN? Well if you didn’t read the info in the link here is the important bit:

The addition of the TiVoCast framework will allow for Amazon Unbox movies once the feature is available to the general public.

TiVo has begun releasing its Series 3 software which includes the capability to download movies from Amazon whenever they roll out their Amazon Unbox movie service. Downloadable movies direct to TiVO. If the system works as well as it seems in a dream could TiVo be the real benefactor if other players want to move into the direct to TiVo downloads???? eeehmmm Wal Mart, Netflix (yes I know they are working on their own–but TiVo can be an add on), Blockbuster.

Could TiVo be taken out altogether?

I like calls on TiVo, but haven’t look at the choices yet. If you have ideas, feel free to drop them in the comments below.
