Well the last day of the trading year was down and surprisingly down quite a bit. For some it wasn’t surprising for me it was. It will be even more surprising for me if the rest of this week is negative.

I finished my index trading up 19.5% for the year. Considering that my percentage destroys the yearly performance of the indexes – I am dissappointed. The reason I’m dissappointed by my performance is because of my lack of focus in the final two months of the year where I had a significant drawdown. Every year traders learn from their mistakes, improve their systems, improve their rules, and try it all again next year. I’m no different.

So my Trading New Year’s Resolution is to trade more “conservative” (trading leveraged vehicles) within my index systems. Conserve the profits and trade with maximum edge.

My second resolution applies to my trending stocks systems. That is to let my winners run. As simple as that.
