Being a little long in the index funds. Took a beating today, but I made a good decision and did not put alot of money on the line. So the loss was small, although large for the position size. If I had put on a big position it would’ve hurt like drinking milk with tacos.

LMT – which was on my list last night had a huge pop this morning and ended up finishing up 3.8%, however it was up over 7% earlier in the day. With this tape though what could be up?

CHKP – I made a good trade there and captured 46%. However, as usual I sell early. I had the opportunity to nail 100% when CHKP was up as much as 9% intraday. CHKP closed up 7% in the worst tape in a long time. Congratufooklations to me.

GROW – Why did I get into this stock…with options no less? They are getting hit hard. GROW down 5.2% today.

I still have LVLT, MDT, BZH, and KBH call options. They are all doing crappy, but that one big hit I got in the NDX calls makes up for all this expiring worthless.

RUT calls – I tried my hand at buying some RUT calls intraday, you can see what I was doing via the chart below. I sold at the trendline break because according to what I look at, the market should have rallied by that time. It didn’t and trendlines we’re broken across all indexes on that 5min bar. That was a sell signal. Next time around I hope I’m smart enough to sell the call or buy the put at that point.

I’m going to look to buy calls again tomorrow morning if we open weak.
