I was done trading by 11am, but being long was a good place to be today.

I cashed the MSFT options near the open. The fact that I waited about 10minutes meant a loss of a couple grand because MSFT quickly dropped from the 36 level. I already mentioned it, but it was a gain of 712%. This one trade is making up for my ALKS and XLNX option loser trades by a large margin. Actually my XLNX calls are down 91% so if they expire worthless they expire worthless, I only have upside from here.

MSFT common stock positions had a gain of 15%. I sold that too before it sold off, so that was smart — so far. I still kept one account with MSFT to hold long term.

I cashed my index longs around the morning pricing (I added to those index longs yesterday). The gain on that trade was roughly 2.28%. If I waited till 4pm, then I would’ve captured 3%. Ce La Vie.

1 sucky thing was that I gave up CYTR recently because I didn’t see the movement happening in the stock. It turns out I was early and not patient enough (we’re talking days here). I got out on Oct 12th at 3.57, the stock now is at 4.64. 30% higher in 10 trading days.

whats up sensei. Great call on the Microsoft options. How do you feel about MSQLH, the December 40 calls. We will have to wait to see what monday brings but do you think it will be on the upswing as 2008 approaches.

yeh I would wait for MSFT to come in a little bit and rolling out to those Decembers or maybe January is better actually at this point…LEAPS might be a good play as well. I own MSFT outright still in one account and want to accumulate on dips.

I think MSFT is on the upswing at a minimum till December 2008.

What we are seeing in MSFT “I think” is the begining of a move similar to what AMZN did. MSFT definitely did a breakaway gap.

Afraid to trade has the chart.
