I didn’t post about it, probably because I skipped the last two evening post sessions, but I took the index funds to cash yesterday so todays downdraft didn’t hit me. That was a nice move because today was ugly.

So being in cash with the index money worked today.

What else worked?

KRY – This stock has a had a nice move. I’m up 6% in it and only because of my bad dollar cost averaging purchase I made a few days ago when the stock was up 9% on the day, arg!

MMG – Hey it was a profitable trade. 7.8% profit in a few days is ok for me.

TMED – This puppy had a 8% day today. Someone came in on the last 5min bar and bought 7400 shares at market it looks like. The daily chart has turned and the weekly chart is turning fast. Maybe, just maybe TMED will get back to the levels it was at around August when I had a 40% gain in the stock. That yearly portfolio of mine needs it.

In previous years the yearly portfolio strategy has done well even when the market turned. Actually thats when these penny stocks and no name stocks that are in it have performed best (based on past performance).

LMC – I picked some up today. Chart looks good.

SINA – I wish I never sold SINA in the first place, but glad I bought it back when I did. Up almost 1% from the second buy. I own slightly less of a position than I had before. The chart made the move that I was anticipating today. A breach and close above 35.4. Almost wish I owned options in this one.

I move my index money to the short side. I’m short for tomorrow, but still holding and looking to buy select stocks.

I may be looking at ONT tomorrow depending on how it trades. ONT has held up very well and I’ve done very well trading it. I got out at 2.6ish and its currently at 2.35. If ONT is weak at tomorrows close I’ll consider buying it again.

I’ll post some stocks either later tonight or tomorrow.

My final rank in the CNBC challenge. I’m not going to make excuses and I might have done worse, but I wasn’t very active with this contest and imo did pretty well for over 1 million entries. I’m not sure if there is one more day or not left, but my final trade is SIGM.
